A Retrospective in Film
Ken Loach
A visual identity for a film festival in honour of Ken Loach, the renowned filmmaker and socialist activist. My concept was inspired by Loach's socialist beliefs, which are reflected in his thought-provoking films. At the heart of my design is a bold red stripe, which serves as a graphic marker across all touchpoints. This symbol represents Loach's unwavering commitment to socialist ideals and serves as a unifying element throughout the visual identity. To reflect the low-budget nature of Loach's films, I opted for a stark and minimalist aesthetic. I wanted to emphasise the power of simplicity and its ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity.
